Friends and i are moving into a three bedroom. How much more should someone pay if they get the master bedroom

The master bedroom is the largest bedroom and also have a personal bathroom (sink and toilet, but no tub). The total rent is $1029, but we don't know how to split it since we believe the person who get the master bedroom should pay extra.

  1. I have the same living arrangements but we do not make our roommate who has the master bedroom to pay more.
  2. You could cut the cards to see who gets it or flip a coin. Or $380, $325, $325. Or $370, $330, $330. Or $360, $335, $335. I would go for the second or third option.
  3. 1. Get the total square footage of the apartment from the landlord. Take the rental rate and DIVIDE by the total square footage..this will give you a price per square foot. 2. For each bedroom, take the LENGTH (in feet) and multiply it by the WIDTH....this gives you the total square footage for each bathroom...INCLUDE the closet and bathroom spaces. Just measure each one and add them together. 3. Take your price per square footage, and multiply it by the total square feet for EACH bedroom...this tells you how much each of you are paying for each bedroom...whatever is left is for common areas. 4. Split the common area rent 3 ways, then ADD what each guy's price of his bedroom is....this is how much each of you should be paying. The total should be the total of the rent.
