i have two male ferrets and im getting very concerned...

they have lived together since seperation from their mothers and are living in a large rabbit pen in my garden. they like each other but recently i can see that my larger hob (a massive beautiful albino named howard moon) has started violently chasing and tackling my smaller submissive ferret (a friendly and well trained polecat named vince noir) and well, sort of raping him. there are small cuts from where he grips him so tight with his teeth. the polecat is always very upset after this and i seperate them immediatly if this is happening but i am not always there to seperate them. i can not provide a jill for them as this would lead to kitts that i would have to sell and i am way too sentimental to do that and i do not know a single other person that would buy them. ive been warned not to seperate them because that would lead to the larger hob getting more violent. please help me i think this may be a serious problem.

  1. If he is not castrated, then do so. You could also get a spayed female. Here in US all store-purchased ferrets are already neutered and de-scented. The other option is separating them, but near one another, perhaps with a connection tube, that you open when you are home and close when you are away. I had 3 cages connected with drainage pipes so mine had 2 separate indoor choices and one outdoor cage choice. Good luck!
  2. Your gonna have to get him a woman or seperate them. Its not fair to the one getting raped. Poor lil guy.
