Is BDSM legal for minors?

Not really a marriage question, but I think you married people know the law better than the stupid kids in the Singles & Dating section so...I am 20, and my best guy friend is 17. We've become friends with benefits on his 17th birthday, and we've been having sex almost every day (and yes this is legal; age of consent in NY is 17). I don't think there are any laws that make BDSM separate from any other sexual encounter, BUT, it's possible that if his parents found out, they could prosecute you for assault on his behalf (with or without his help) and honestly, it seems pretty risky to me to engage in rape play with someone who is not of legal age to even sign a contract yet--if he for any reason decided to press charges, the fact that he's 17 could pose serious problems for you.

Ok, while I'm very very particular about being old enough to make the right choices and while I'm very particular about protecting the young, if he's 17 and you're 20 it's fine especially since 17 is the age of consent in NY. HOWEVER, the simple fact is that rape fantasies are a very very sensitive, if a person isn't completely prepared and mature enough to enjoy them they can cause a lot of problems for anyone. Considering the fact that his legal rights are still basically held by his parents, my suggestion is reconsider the fantasy when he's 18, he may not have a problem with it now, but his parents may not understand if they find out and since he's not 18 yet they could take you to court on his behalf.
